A Teacher’s Favorite Things: Gift Giving Throughout the School Year + Printable

A teacher's desk with the printable A Teacher's Favorite Things Printable

Whether we’re ready or not, a new school year is upon us! With the lasting impression teachers have on our children, many of us want to show our appreciation to these wonderful humans throughout the school year.

If you’re anything like me, though, I tend to overthink gift-giving. I want to give the best gifts to support the ones running our kids’ weekdays of learning. I hate the thought of giving a gift that is redundant, useless to the recipient, or is something they flat-out don’t like. We all know the labor of love that teachers put into their classrooms. They personally invest in our children and our future!

So to ease my overthinking, I like to give my kids’ teachers a questionnaire to learn more about them. I want our teachers to know we see them for who they are individually. Plus whatever I spend our money on, I want to ensure it’s worthwhile and will be enjoyed by the recipient.

Do you relate? If so, print out the questionnaire below for your child’s teacher to fill out! This list of their favorite things is a great starting point for gift ideas.

Once you receive the list back, you can go as far as you’d like with gift-giving throughout the school year. Whether it’s a little favorite something for each little holiday, a treat or gift card on the teacher’s birthday, a basket of goodies for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week, or the end of the year — you do you, Mama!
