Plan Your Trip To The New York State Fair

The 2025 Great New York State Fair will take place August 20 to September 1. The fair was founded in 1841, making it the oldest fair in the United States. We’re fortunate to be so close to the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Here are some of the details and highlights for families to help you plan your trip!

The Fair!

Hours & Admission

The New York State Fairgrounds are located just west of Syracuse at 581 State Fair Blvd, Syracuse NY. The fair is open August 20 to September 1, 9:00am to 11:00pm daily. Certain buildings and sections open later and close early. The Fair will close early on Labor Day.

Admission is $8 for youth and adults and free to those over the age of 65 and 12 and under. There are several special fair days with free admission for youth and active and retired law enforcement, fire department or emergency services, active and active-duty military and veterans. Parking is $12 per vehicle. Parking passes can be purchased in advance online or upon arrival at the lot entrance by credit card only. There will be no cash sales available.

Concerts

There are two stages for concert entertainment with performances throughout the day. Concerts are free with fair admission with first-come first serve seating. The Suburban Park Stage is located on the west side of the fair past the midway and features several bands and artists. Chevy Court Stage is near Gate 1 and will feature KIDZ BOP on August 23 at 1:00pm and Blippi: The Wonderful World Tour on August 31 at 1:00pm.

Fair Events

The Fair is bringing several new family-friendly experiences this year, all free with admission. At the Expo Center, step back in time with the immersive Ice Age Experience with life-sized animatronic figures. At Central Park, enjoy a number of new shows including the Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show. Returning entertainment acts also include The Coronas Family Petting Zoo, Hollywood Pig Races and Birds of Prey, hosted by Hawk Creek Wildlife Center, Inc.
