Growing up in Rochester, I never had trouble finding a place to hike! Rediscovering these trails as a parent has been a wonderful adventure for my family. Hiking with a baby presents unique challenges. Initially, I would wear my baby, strapped to my back in a carrier, to bring him along on our hikes. As he started walking and our family grew, it became easier to bring a stroller or wagon along. Check out our Amazon Storefront for some of our favorite hiking gear for kids!

Below, I have listed our favorite 8 stroller-friendly trails in the Rochester area. These trails feature flat, mostly paved walkways, and most have public restrooms available during the summer.
Basil Marella Park | Greece
This park has plenty of space to park by the public restroom located near the playground and inclusive music-themed playground. The trail at this location goes through the woods and is completely paved. It’s a beautiful wooded path that runs parallel to Route 390.
Ellison Park | Brighton
This park features historical sites, multiple public restrooms, a rose garden, and a playground. The Irondequoit Creek runs through the park. The paved pathways by the pedestrian bridges are stroller-friendly. The Mill Race Trail and Indian Landing Trail are both mostly level terrain. There is plenty of wildlife to see here, making this a great park for a scavenger hunt! If you park by the north landing entrance, a paved trail starts right behind the restrooms. Once you get past the short sledding hill, this path is flat and leads you over the creek on a cute bridge.
Greece Canal Park | Greece

The trails at Greece Canal Park are dirt, mostly flat, through the woods. The paved canal trail along the Erie Canal is stroller-friendly. The park itself features two playgrounds and two public restrooms. The Farm Artifact trail is mostly flat and suitable for most strollers. This trail features old rock walls from the previous farmland that was here, as well as beautiful foliage and wildlife.
Highland Park | Rochester

The park features paved trails through mild hills with trees and flowers to view along the way. There are multiple public bathrooms and playgrounds throughout the park. The Lamberton Conservatory at the park is home to turtles and quails! Entrance is free for kids under 5 years old, making it a great walking option in inclement weather. The Sunken Garden at Warner Castle is a beautiful and unique place to explore on a nice day.
Hojack Trail | Webster
This path is dirt and stone along an old railway. The trail here connects to a few other larger trails. There are public restrooms available at Charles E. Sexton Memorial Park (formerly North Ponds Park) and at the Van Alystne road trailhead.
Rothfuss Park | Penfield
The paved paths in the park and around the perimeter are perfect for strollers! This park features a dinosaur-themed playground, an inclusive playground, and public restrooms.
Tinker Nature Park | Henrietta

There is so much to see at Tinker Nature Park! Paths are mainly flat, paved, or dirt, with some boardwalks in the swampy areas. There are public bathrooms, a Nature Center, a Farm museum, a pond, and a playground.
Turning Point | Charlotte
The boardwalk bridge over the Genesee River makes for a beautiful scenic stroll. Other trails here are paved or dirt and mostly stroller-friendly. Some run parallel to the river while others enter the woods. Signs mark the trails showing where they connect to the larger Genesee Riverway Trail, which extends to Ontario Beach Park in the north and downtown Rochester in the south. There are no public restrooms in the park.
