Summer is officially upon us, Rochester! Time to plan those beautiful summer date nights. Here are some great summer date night ideas to enjoy quality time together and the gorgeous summer weather.

Indoor Fun

Have fun capturing your own unique summer time smells by creating your own candle, fragrance or body product at Sense by Design Candle Bar. Enjoy the beautiful summer nights by heading to Ontario Beach Park on Wednesday nights to catch some local talented bands during Wegman’s Concerts by the Shore Series. Double Date Fun

Enjoy a summer night with friends and book tickets at the newly renamed Innovative Field and see a Red Wings game. With a variety of ticket options, there are an array of different ways to experience this Rochester past time.

Several Rochester staples provide an adult themed evening that make a great group date night. The Seneca Park Zoo offers their ZooBrew Happy Hour series once a month from June until September. Enjoy drinks and live music while you walk the zoo and enjoy all the animals. On June 7th the Genesee County Museum is offering their History on Tap evening. Come with empty stomachs as you sample local beer, wine and cider along with on-site food vendors. They will even be offering tastings and tours of their on-site brewery.

Not sure where to go with a large party of friends? Look to book a Rochester Pedal Tour. With many different experience tours offered, this tour of Rochester is a fun and active way to see it all. Each tour provides you transportation between 2 local bars or breweries in the heart of Rochester. Bike capacity runs between 13 to 15 guests. They also have a pedal boat option that seats 18 people. A unique way to explore Rochester with all your close friends.

Romantic Beach Dates

Looking for a cheap and scenic date night? Take a picnic and stroll at Rochester’s beautiful beaches. Along with Ontario Beach Park’s Summer Concert series mentioned above, the beach is surrounded by gorgeous views of the great lake via the pier. You can even hop on and ride the historic Dentzel Menagerie Carousel. The beach is surrounded by some great restaurants to grab bite at. If you’re looking to picnic, you can find some really romantic scenic spots to watch the sunset.

Durand Eastman Beach and Park is open to the public from June to September. If your looking to hike, the park offers some beautiful nature trails to take in all of Rochester’s nature and wildlife.

Hamlin Beach State Park is great for a day date as it provides sandy beaches, trails for hiking and biking, Park benches and BBQs for a great picnic meal and even has tent and trailer campsite spaces for a weekend getaway!

If your date calls for adventures outdoors, Rochester holds several restaurants with outdoor seating. One in particular is Marge’s Lakeside Inn that provides everything for a great summer date night; good food, drinks, live band and a picturesque view of the lake. With their tropical tiki-hut feel, you’ll instantly feel like you’ve stepped into a tropical paradise.

Wanting more thrills and chills? Seabreeze Amusement Park is a Rochester staple for summertime fun. The park hours go to 8 or 9pm and has a combination of water fun along with rides for all kinds of adventure seekers. You can keep the evening going by enjoying a meal at the Parkside Diner, which is located right down the road. After dinner, walk over to their mini golf course. The mini golf course was originally opened in the 1930’s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest mini golf course in the United States.

Take date night to the open water, there are several options for a night boat cruise. There are several Erie Canal Boat Cruises and offer live music and dinner packages for their guests. Depending on when your date is, there are day and night tours with an array of different themes and events.
