Pinball
Have your kids ever seen a traditional pinball machine? There are few places where you can play in Rochester. Rochester Pinball Collective is a pinball arcade where you can play all of the machines for one admission price. Kids ages 4 and under play free at Flower City Amusements where they have a collection of pinball machines in addition to their video game arcade. Don’t forget to bring quarters to the Strong National Museum of Play where you can play through 80 years of pinball history.
Museums
You don’t have to look very far to find the excellent museums that Rochester has to offer. The Memorial Art Gallery showcases over 12,000 works of art, including works by Monet, Rembrandt and Warhol. Rochester is home to the oldest photography museum in the world – the George Eastman Museum which always has rotating exhibits and films. In addition to the Eastman Kodak Founder, George Eastman, Rochester was also home to civil rights leader, Susan B. Anthony. Today, you can visit the Susan B. Anthony Museum & House, where she lived in Rochester.
Bowling
Bowling can be a great activity to do with kids and teenagers. There are great bowling alleys all around Rochester like Radio Social, Bowlero, Seabreeze Bowl and Sunset Lanes.
Ice Skating
Ice skating can be a year-round activity in Rochester at indoor ice skating rinks. Most places provide skate rentals and skate trainers. If your child needs help learning to skate, most locations offer Learn-To-Skate lessons.
Go-Karts
There are a few places around Rochester that have indoor Go-Karts. Clubhouse Fun Center has outdoor go-karts at their location in Henrietta. For the serious go-karter, IndyKart Raceway has quite the indoor racetrack!
Indoor Playspaces
Around Rochester, you can find many indoor playspaces to get some energy out. Ladybugs Play is a great playspace for younger children. Older children can bounce to their heart’s content at Altitude Trampoline Park.
Arcades
If you are looking for some 80s nostalgia, check out a local arcade! Clubhouse Fun Center in Greece and Henrietta have arcades and more. You can also find Chuck E. Cheese in Greece. For older kids, check out Lasertron for their arcade and intense laser tag.
Libraries
The libraries in Monroe County are a great way to spend time with kids. Many of our libraries have amazing children’s sections with play areas and offer regular story time events.
