Pinball
Have your kids ever seen a traditional pinball machine? There are few places where you can play in Rochester – Flower City Amusements, Rochester Pinball Collective and there is a section at the Strong National Museum of Play (bring quarters!).
Museums
You don’t have to look very far to find the excellent museums that Rochester has to offer. The Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) is a great experience. For something more unique, Rochester is home to the George Eastman Museum which always has rotating exhibits and films. In addition to the Eastman Kodak Founder, George Eastman, Rochester was also home to Women’s Rights Activist, Susan B. Anthony. Today, you can visit the Susan B. Anthony Museum & House, where she lived in Rochester.
Bowling
Bowling can be a great activity to do with kids and teenagers. There are great bowling alleys all around Rochester like Radio Social, Bowlero, Seabreeze Bowl and Sunset Lanes.
Ice Skating
Ice skating can be a year-round activity in Rochester at indoor ice skating rinks. Most places provide skate rentals and skate trainers. If your child needs help learning to skate, most locations offer Learn-To-Skate lessons.
Go-Karts
There are a few places around Rochester that have indoor Go-Karts. Clubhouse Fun Center has go-karts at their locations in Greece and Henrietta. For the serious go-karter, IndyKart Raceway has quite the indoor racetrack!
Arcades
If you are looking for an arcade, there is Chuck E. Cheese in Greece. For older kids, check out Lasertron or Veracity VRcade in Henrietta.
Indoor Playspaces
Around Rochester, you can find many indoor play spaces, especially special places for younger children. For a fee, you can usually have two hours of playtime.
Libraries
The libraries in Monroe County are a great way to spend time with kids. Many of our libraries have amazing children’s sections with play areas and offer regular story time events.
