Did you know that the first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day? Comic Book stores across the US open to long lines of adults and kids to pick out a number of free comic books from a select collection. This year, it will be extra fun as Free Comic Book Day falls on May 4th – May the fourth be with you!

From last year’s Free Comic Book Day

Stores receive a special shipment of comics for Free Comic Book Day and will set a limit as to how many each person can take for free. It might be 3, it might be 10. These comics aren’t necessarily from a series you may have heard of but you can still find some gems. Patrons can also shop sales for regular items in the comic book store.

Comic Book Day is a special occasion in our family. We take our kids out to as many comic book stores as we can hit and enjoy looking over all of their treasures at home for the rest of the day.

Comic books are an art-form all their own and a great way to get kids to love reading. Before they dive in, be sure to confirm that a comic book is age-appropriate for your child.

Free Comic Book Day can be a fun outing with your kids and you’ll also be supporting local businesses right here in Rochester.
