Rochester is full of playgrounds for young families to enjoy! Here are some of the newer playground structures in the area to check out. These playgrounds were built between 2020 – 2023.
New Playgrounds In Rochester
Goodwin Park | Greece
This newer playground in Greece has many structures that will challenge older children. The structure is along a canal that connects Lake Ontario to Long Pond. There are no nearby restrooms.
Kreag Road Park | Perinton
In 2023, this brand new playground at Kreag Road Park in Perinton replaced an older structure. The new playground features different climbing apparatuses and slides for toddlers. Restrooms available.
Irondequoit Bay State Marine Park | Irondequoit
This fenced-in playground is located at Irondequoit Bay State Marine Park near the Bill Gray’s and Abott’s restaurant and Sea Breeze Amusement Park. There are many swings, rocking cars and picnic tables under the pavilion.
Ontario Beach Park | Rochester
Ontario Beach Park is along Lake Erie, north of Irondequoit but is technically a part of the City of Rochester. The playground at Ontario Beach Park has had new inclusive elements added to it. There are several play structures including smaller structures for toddlers. Restrooms, picnic tables and a new fenced-in splash pad are nearby. You can enjoy all of these and play at the beach at Lake Ontario. There are several restaurants at this location and summer events happening such as Wegmans Concerts At The Shore on Wednesday nights.
Parma Town Park | Hilton
Adventure Towers Playground was added to Parma Town Park in 2021. There are tall slides and many challenging structures for older children. Restrooms and other playground structures are nearby.
Powder Mills Park | Pittsford
This new playground was built in 2023 and is deep in Powder Mills Park in Pittsford. There is a smaller play structure for toddlers. Restrooms are located nearby at the Powderhorn Lodge and the Oak Tree Lodge. You can also visit the Powder Mills Fish Hatchery and feed the fish.
Sandbar Park | Webster
In 2023, Webster unveiled this new playground which features natural wood elements, a tall slide and a climbing apparatus all along Lake Ontario. There are also walking paths and nearby restrooms. The play structures are more suitable for older children.
